Workflow

When my laptop got stolen I bought a new one. Well actually SSIS bought it for me and I get to pay them back one month at a time for the next few months. I was lucky to get it back but my new laptop is…..well…….better. It’s been a few months since this happened and I still am getting things setup so I can use them the way I want to.

I love Reeder, have it on all my Idevices, and read my RSS feeds with it all the time.  I also like Diigo for bookmarking.

Unfortunately Reeder does not allow me to directly tag and save to Diigo so I’ve found myself not bookmarking pages as often. I finally remembered that I also had a Delicious account. I set it up to send my Diigo bookmarks to Delicious as part of some course requirement. I have forgotten why.  Anyhow with Reeder I can save to Delicious.

So to get my RSS feed bookmarking workflow sorted I used (a Shanghai learning moment) if this then that.  It’s a cool site that allows you to use API‘s from a variety of sites to create actions using a set of simple rules. So now to bookmark to Diigo while using Reeder I bookmark to Delicious and by using the tag Diigo IFTT.com takes care of getting it to Diigo for me.

Same way I get my Instagram photos to a blog, though that has a few issues I need to look at.
