You can import ePubs into iBook Author as of the last update. This makes a few things I did last year a lot easier. To create a custom Math Text in an iBook format you could create it on CK12.org then download the ePub. Import the ePub into iBook author as shown on the slides below.

Why do this instead of just importing the ePub into iBooks? With the iBook you could easily:
- embed instructional videos
- embed assessments
- embed animations
- embed worksheets
All sots of different possibilities. Guess it would also make it easy to have students create a book with an app like Book Creator then export each student book as an ePub. Bring them all together into an iBook that contains all of their work. Publish the book on the schools iTunes U account to share with parents.
